Soil Matter(s) (Milk chocolate, cocoa, honey, raisin, citrus, caramel, spice)

GEMS304

“There is zero loss in growing coffee the way we do – ecological or economical” says Chandramma. It has been a win-win for the farmer family – with fair profits and significant soil revival.

Korra Nageshwar Rao and Chandramma are the custodians of a neatly manicured one-acre coffee farm in Kanjarithota, Araku. The village is known for picking the choicest crimson red cherries and 31 farmer families harvested a bumper crop of 14 metric tons this season.

Over the years, the farmer family has noticed visible transformation of their precious farm. The once grey soil has undergone a remarkable metamorphosis, transforming into a deep brown colour, they say. Soil experts agree that this soil transformation is proof of increased organic matter, improved water retention capacity and enhanced humus.

Gems304 has cupping notes of cocoa, milk chocolate, honey and raisins.
